ABOUT US
Jean and Erica launched Capital Creative Spirits in October 2025, fueled by friendship, a shared interest in creativity, and careers in public service at the U.S. State Department that taught them how to collaborate, adapt, and laugh along the way.
Jean spent 22 years in the Foreign Service, with assignments that took her from Curaçao to Phnom Penh, Kabul, and Montreal, plus multiple tours in Washington, D.C. Wherever she landed, Jean found her greatest fulfillment in leading teams—rallying people around a shared purpose, helping them tap into one another’s strengths, and navigating challenges together to achieve the mission.
Erica started her public service journey in 2011. She built a career around helping others address conduct issues and navigate conflict with fairness, care, and compassion, which means she’s good at helping people find common ground, even when it feels like there isn’t any. She’s had the opportunity to serve in a range of roles at the Department and to learn from exceptional colleagues (e.g. Jean!), and her experiences have shaped how she supports clients today.
In July 2025, having worked together Jean and Erica each began planning for a new chapter. Erica leaned into her lifelong passion for creativity and dusted off her art supplies to reignited the joy. Simultaneously, Jean discovered painting and was quickly drawn to its calming and peaceful influence. What began as personal outlets soon became sources of energy and inspiration in their daily lives. Building on this momentum, they dreamed up and launched Capital Creative Spirits.
Now, they blend the professional skills gained during their public service careers with hands-on creativity to spark connection and gratitude at every opportunity. At Capital Creative Spirits, their mission is simple: to bring joy, imagination, and thoughtful design to every project, event, and experience they shape for their clients.
